Your bargaining team has discussed the new proposal from the Employer related to pro-rating, and have agreed to put the total package (including the new pro-rating proposal) to a vote with the membership. We have sent our response to the Employer through the provincially-appointed mediator, and are awaiting a response before determining the date and conditions for a vote.

At 5:00am, after two days of mediation, the Employer tabled a “Final Offer.” After careful consideration, due to the fact that numerous issues remain un-addressed in the offer, your bargaining team has unanimously decided that they cannot recommend ratification of the Offer as it stands. The offer remains valid until 12:01am on November 16th.

The Union has served notice to maintain its right to strike, as per the agreement reached with the University to pause bargaining. This means that the parties will be in a legal strike/lockout position as of 12:01am on November 17th.

We will be sending out details of the offer, and information on next steps, to the membership in the next 24 hours.
