Unit 3 Benefits

Unit 3 is comprised of Postdoctoral Fellows employed at McMaster.

Unit 3 members have access to a variety of benefits including the Dental Plan, the Health Spending Account & in some cases the benefits plan provided through Sun Life (see below for details)

All Unit 3 members are eligible for the CUPE 3906 Dental Plan through Equitable Life.

Appointments 1 year or longer:
Unit 3 members with appointments of 1 year or longer are eligible for Extended Health Care through the University’s plan with Sun Life.
Please note, if you had an appointment of less than one year, and you were granted an extension of your contract making the total length longer than 1 year, you will become eligible for the Sun Life plan as of the date of your extension.

Appointments of less than 1 year:
Unit 3 members with appointments of less than 1 year are eligible for extended health benefits through CUPE 3906′s Health Spending Account.

Unit 3 members can also apply to the Postdoctoral Fellow Support Fund for expenses not covered elsewhere.
