Unit 2 Benefits
CUPE 3906 provides Unit 2 members with a variety of benefits including the Health Spending Account, the Professional Development Fund & the UHIP Rebate for international students. Unit 2 members can also apply to the Hardship Fund for expenses not covered elsewhere.
Unit 2 is made up of Sessional Faculty and Sessional Music Faculty employed at McMaster.
Unit 2 members have access to a range of benefits, including:
- A Health Spending Account (NEW – maximum entitlement increased to $400 per year on a trial basis)
- A Professional Development Fund
- A UHIP rebate to help offset the high cost of health care for international students.
- A Hardship Fund for emergency or extra0rdinary, one time expenses.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: The Health Spending Account entitlement has been raised to $400 per year on a trial basis only. This amount may be adjusted in the future if claims activity is higher or lower than expected. The membership will be notified of any such changes.
